Now in its fourth year, The School For Comedy Beasts takes place at the magical Lookout Arts Quarry in the stunning Pacific Northwest, just 9 miles south of Bellingham, WA and a gazillion miles from anything in your way.

Daytime workshops in a luxurious sprung-floor studio, evening shows, delicious meals, fires, dance parties, a private lake… a comedy retreat for serious people who want to take their craft to the next level. Camp on site or find lodging in town.

This retreat is designed for professional artists and/or serious hobbyists who are in good physical condition and have experience in some or all of the following: clown, bouffon, improv, standup, physical theater, circus, dance.

The focus of the program is on exploring and working YOUR CLOWN: the incredibly lovable, can’t-look-away riveting performer inside of you. In our first week, we discover and hone that clown; in week two, we clarify the CHARACTER and develop material for it. You will leave the program with a strong sense of who your clown is, a foundation for getting this character on stage, a newfound sense of your own magic, and deep friendships/collaborations with a beautiful group of humans.
